Description
Wooden Ships Comments on this Danish Haikutter Gaff Ketch
A well found Danish Haikutter fishing vessel built by Karstensen & Henriksen of Skagen, Denmark in 1929.
The Haikutter class, or ‘Shark Cutter’ was the most common style of fishing vessel in Denmark at this time with their tell tale elliptical counter stern, sweeping sheer and bluff bows.
Having spent most of her life as a commercial vessel with yearly surveys by the Danish Maritime Authority she was sold into private ownership and converted to a yacht around 1992. Sleipner has participated in roughly 16 annual Limfjorden Rundt events and most recently in the Fyn Rundt in 2024. Bought by her very qualified owner in 2025, his intention was to embark upon a lifelong journey with this fine ship, working and living with her.
A serious amount of refit work has been done including a full rig out refit, engine overhaul and slipping to carry out repairs to the underwater hull. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond his control the owner now needs to sell the ship. Offered at a very attractive price to reflect the owners need to move on quickly.
