This Wauquiez 47 Centurion for sale in Corfu, Greece, is a pedigree offshore cruiser / racer. She has a purposeful look and sleek lines that complement her serious offshore ability and combined with her practical sea-going layout and beautiful interior joinery she would make an excellent choice for a new owner considering extended cruising in comfort. A very desirable genuine classic yacht!
Stepping aboard this Wauquiez 47 Centurion whilst stern to from the passerelle to the bathing platform you immediately notice the blue water intentions and performance sailing aspect of this yacht in the way she is set up from the multiple winches, deep secure cockpit with large wheel, running backstays with hydraulic kicker and backstay tensioner etc. She has a fully battened mainsail and the genoa is very lightly used plus there is a gennaker and spinnaker.
Descending the companionway steps you enter the saloon and experience being on-board a quality yacht intended for serious cruising in style. The light and airy saloon has U shaped seating around the saloon table to starboard with a full size and well equipped chart table and navigation area to port located at the fwd end of the saloon close to the centre of the boat giving least movement at sea. Aft of this is an excellent galley that works equally well at sea or in port that boasts extensive stowage, refrigeration and work areas. There is excellent stowage and beautiful joinery throughout the boat. The owners’ cabin aft has a double berth to starboard, and a large en-suite heads / shower compartment to port. There is a door aft of the heads giving access to a workshop area and access to the reverse mounted engine. This area is also accessible via a cockpit locker.
At the forward end of the saloon there is a twin berth cabin to port and double cabin to starboard. These share a full width heads / shower compartment further forward. The forepeak area is designed as a sail / equipment locker with large foredeck hatch but could be converted to a further double cabin. There is excellent access to the bowthruster here. There is a good amount of practical stowage throughout the yacht, as you would expect on a blue-water cruiser of this calibre.
It`s fair to say her teak decks are very worn and her standing rigging age is unknown however she is realistically priced to reflect this. All in all, this Wauquiez 47 Centurion is a pedigree offshore yacht of high quality construction combined with design features and a quality feel that is rarely seen on yachts produced today. She must be a contender for new owners considering a serious blue-water sloop with the potential to cruise in comfort, safety and style!
