This Bavaria 36 is a popular mid-sized family cruiser and boasts many upgrades and a very extensive ongoing maintenance program. She benefits from replacement standing and running rigging, Flexiteek decking, recent batteries, recent genoa and new outboard motor among many other upgraded items. She is the three double cabin model with one heads / shower compartment. A very nicely presented example at a realistic price!
Boarding this Bavaria 36 from the sugar-scoop, you pass through the transom gate into the spacious cockpit. Wheel steering and the position of the propeller / saildrive offer easy vice free handling under engine and she has a good sailing performance with her slab / single line reefing mainsail. Lines are led aft so she is easy to handle short-handed under sail aided by her lazyjack system and sail bag. There is a large anchor locker forward with replacement windlass and plenty of opening hatches / port lights for ventilation.
Below decks the well maintained Volvo engine is located under the companionway steps and two double aft cabins with good stowage are accessed either side. The chart table and navigation area is to starboard at the aft end of the saloon with a good sized heads/shower compartment opposite to port. Forward of this is the practical longitudinal galley. There is good stowage and an efficient fridge. Opposite to starboard is ‘U’ shaped seating around the saloon table. Forward of the saloon in the forepeak area is another comfortable double cabin.
This Bavaria 36 is realistically priced and a good choice for family cruising in comfort. She is a very well presented and well maintained boat that has been regularly and constantly upgraded. She`s very much ready for new owners to continue to cruise in comfort. The Bavarias from this era have a solid wood and higher quality construction then her newer counterparts and viewing is highly recommended to appreciate fully!
